Judging Procedures

Judging for this awards competition takes place entirely in an online format, to ensure each project is judged individually by our respective judges. The online system allows us to use judges outside of our region to ensure objectivity. The judging panel will consist of respected Home Builder Association members and/or professionals from across Canada with experience and expertise in our industry. The judges may include builders, renovators, architects, planners, interior designers, educators, and other individuals considered to be appropriate by the Housing Design Awards Committee. Up to five finalists will be selected per award category.

Please note that all competition judging (excluding the All Things Home People's Choice Award) will be completed online, and all entries will be judged according to the criteria set out for each award. Judging panel decisions will be final.

Judging for the All Things Home People's Choice Award will be done online through a separate voting website.  Once our team of judges have determined the finalists, we will feature these amazing projects on www.gohbavote.ca in seven separate rounds over a seven-week period. Votes are reviewed by a third-party accounting firm to confirm legitimacy and eligibility. The final round will consist of the top two entries from each group of categories and they will compete to be crowned the All Things Home People's Choice Award Winner.

Scoring will be available to finalists upon request following the announcement of the winners.
