A Production Kitchen is defined as the standard kitchen in a tract home that is designed to be built more than once. Standard upgrades offered at the sales center are considered part of a production kitchen. Production kitchens that have been significantly customized for a purchaser must be entered in the Custom categories.
A Custom Kitchen means a custom designed, one of a kind kitchen for a specific client.
We have added contemporary & traditional design options for this category. Categorizing entries will be at the discretion of the entrant. However, said entries may be reclassified at the judge's discretion.
Square footage for kitchen submissions is defined as the floor area of the room in which the kitchen is located. An integrated eating area, breakfast nook, food pantry, telephone desk or lounging area is considered to be part of the kitchen space. Please extend your calculation of square footage three feet past the edge of your countertop. Click here to view an example of how square footage is calculated for kitchen submissions.
The kitchen costs for this category include all cabinetry, countertops, millwork and trim, all major appliances, all plumbing fixtures and faucets, all flooring, wall and ceiling finishes after the drywall and sub floor, and all lighting fixtures including pot lights; as charged to the client(s). Please note that client invoices detailing all costs including labour should be ready to submit to the GOHBA/judges upon request.
